Carinya Cottage Opening

Zac homes presnted $100,000 to Thorndale

Carinya Cottage Opening

On Friday 21stSeptember 2012 Thorndale celebrated the opening of Carinya Cottage.  Thorndale’s first purpose built group home for 5 residents with intellectual disability.  These residents have lived with Thorndale at Orchard Hills for over 30 years and will now have the opportunity to live in the community in a home especially built for their needs. Carinya was designed and built by Zac Homes who generously worked with their trades to reduce the costs of building and Peter Zaccazan presented Thorndale with $100,000 donation.

The building of this home has been fully funded by the foundation and we are now seeking support from the government to design and built 3 more homes in the community for the remaining residents located at the Large Residential Centre at Orchard Hills.

The cottage was officially opened by The Hon  Andrew Constance MP, Minister for Ageing & Minister for Disability
